I still cry at almost every ceremony. I still squeal excitedly when I discover new angles or find some delicious lighting. I still get butterflies before most sessions because I love my clients so much and want to give them the best experience possible. And while I’m editing, I still text screenshots of photos I am really proud of to my husband.
But my job on a wedding day is not only to capture moments of you and your community. I want to make you feel seen, make you feel joy, and make you feel freakin’ gorgeous. I want to make images that feel like you.
I’m no Grinch, but every wedding has those special moments that make my heart grow three sizes. The pride and happy tears filling family members’ eyes. A spontaneous happy dance. Watching a couple snuggle right after they walk back down the aisle. Hearing the belly laughs from the crowd during a cherished friend’s toast.
After over a decade of photographing weddings, I’m still totally obsessed with my job.
I didn’t think mixing Pixar animation, Jewish traditions, a beachfront ceremony, deep-cut sitcom references, Dungeons and Dragons, and a jaunt through an arid nature preserve could all be part of such an elegant wedding. But they did that!
